IBM Data Server Runtime Client (DB2COPY1) by IBM
The IBM Data Server Runtime Client is a lightweight client package that provides the runtime libraries and drivers needed for applications to connect to IBM Db2 databases. It supports common data access interfaces such as ODBC/CLI, OLE DB, and ADO.NET, includes basic connectivity and cataloging tools, and is suitable for deployment on end-user machines and application servers. It does not include database server components or full administration GUIs.
On Windows, “DB2COPY1” is the installation’s copy name. It is the default identifier for the first Db2 client installed on a system and enables side-by-side installations, allowing applications to target a specific client copy.
